Joyce VanTassel-Baska introduced the Integrated Curriculum Model to address the precocity, complexity, and intensity of children with advanced abilities.  This session will begin with a brief overview of the model, then dive into curriculum units designed using the model in ELA, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics.  We will explore how these units use advanced content, structured analysis, and creative connections to elevate learning.

Stories, Societies, and Significance: ELA and Social Studies Curriculum for Gifted Secondary Students
October 28

This session will highlight the components of a rigorous, memorable humanities curriculum and show how W&M ELA and Decades units address them. Participants will explore how concept development, analytical thinking, and student-selected products that demonstrate learning can foster lasting understanding of significant themes and issues across time.

Real-World Science, Real-World Inquiry: Problem-Based Learning for Gifted Middle Schoolers with W&M Curriculum
October 29

Transform your middle school science classroom into a dynamic hub of scientific investigation using the research-validated Problem-Based Learning (PBL) units from William & Mary’s Center for Gifted Education (CFGE). Designed specifically for high-ability learners in grades 6–8, W&M’s PBL science curriculum immerses students in ill-structured, real-world scenarios—from environmental crises to public health dilemmas—that demand deep research, systems thinking, and authentic scientific reasoning.

All webinars are no-cost and will take place from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Central Time.
